HAPPY 2016 FRIENDS, IT'S BEEN A TREAT SO FAR!

We sure love what this new year has brought us so far!
Can't you tell by our faces!!??

Also, this day of faces was the day Thomas entered a new decade! It was so nice to be able to
spend the entire day with him on his birthday! We went to brunch at the Park Cafe (fitting, I know) did some
shopping, napping, dinner at Tucanos of course, and a movie.

I started my new job at FFKR Architects that next week - and by golly - I love it!
I sit on the 2nd floor balcony under some big skylights, near the rafters, the perfect place to be.
The people are wonderful, the building is awesome, the projects are a dream, and I'm happy.
That's all there is to it!

My mom came down for a weekend and we spent some time with my grandma & grandpa
who are both in assisted living homes, separate homes - breaks my heart.
We picked up grandma and took her to grandpa's place for church, a visit, and lunch.
It was so good to see them together. Their love is unbreakable and eternal,
it's the only way I know how to explain it.

After lunch we packed up some of grandma's things and she and my mom headed to Idaho for the
week. I hear her and my parent's dog, Bo, became the best of friends.
I'm glad my mom was able to have that special time with her. She needed it.

The sun came out for the first time in a long while and I couldn't help but love the
bright sky with the silhouetted trees and shadows coming across FFKR's courtyard.

A day or so after the sun came...so did the snow. Lots of it!
It was so beautiful, the world was blanketed in a peaceful white and I seriously felt like
we were all living in a black and white wold. It was breath taking.
The world needs more peaceful days like that.

Amy and I at a Jazz game.  I love her.
And I felt bad for her because that night her whole purse was stolen out of my dad's car.
Not cool. Not cool at all. People, seriously, be nice!

I had some time alone before a meeting at the church office building
and took time to feel the peace on Temple Square, especially near this beautiful thing.

We travelled to Rexburg to visit family and decorate some walls.
Have you been to Rexburg lately? The school area is so different.
Makes me miss all the little houses...not sure how I feel about the 4+ story apartment buildings...

Valentine's Day was blessed with beautiful flowers. I couldn't get enough of them!

Double date night to a Jazz game with our friends Aubrey and Bronson.
I was the only one not in sports attire. I should work on that if I keep this record up.

The next day we met the Parks in Provo for dinner at Tucanos (Happy Birthday Shelby!)
and a BYU Basketball game. Have I said how much I love being closer to family?
No?  Well I do, a lot!

Finally got these frames I painted 3 years ago up on the walls,
filled with some beautiful prints by Shelby.

Chris and Lacey came to visit for a birthday weekend to celebrate Chris.
They stayed with us the first night and we welcomed them with cupcakes made by Thomas.

The next day was filled with sun-up to sun-down fun. Literally.
Our morning started with everything bagels and face swaps until we cried all our makeup off.
Then we played 18 holes of frisbee golf, followed by Thai food, go-kart racing, kid's museums,
more frisbee golf, dinner, air hockey, and a bowling bet - in which Thomas won out of no where.
It was a wonderfully, awesome, day!

We're so grateful to have the Rahmigs in our lives and everyone that we now know because of them!

Today was nearly 60 degrees and full of interesting, Monday thoughts.
I've honestly thought about this lots of times before - but instagrammed it tonight:

"Do you ever look out and wonder what the people around you see?
What stories come to mind or what inspiration comes to life?
Do most people notice the colors or patterns first?
Lines or textures?
Or is it mathematical and repetitive?
Is it a journey or a stop?
Is it new and enlightening or dull and boring?
What do right brain vs. left brain people compose it to be?
Is it encouraging or intimidating?
What do you see or what do you think most people see?"

anyway, that's what's been up, yo.
stay tuned for more blogging now that life's settling down. maybe.
