On the beautiful July 31st, Steven married Shelby Porter (Yes! Porter!) in the Nauvoo, Illinois temple! We flew in the day before and drove with Kerry and Adam through the hilly, corn-filled fields from Chicago to Nauvoo. That evening we met up with Marisa, Doug and Michelle and attended the Nauvoo pageant. The next morning we met everyone else in the temple for the beautiful ceremony! There are not many good feelings that beat a family-filled temple!
(We ran into the Chatelains after the pageant Thursday night. It was in Brother Chatelain's seminary class where Thomas and I first met. He told us that night that we were his first temple-married seminary couple and he still tells our story! They are seriously the sweetest people!)
Friday night was the open house at Shelby's parents' home near Chicago. It was so beautifully decorated and great to meet the Porters. We got some fun family photos too:
I absolutely love this last photo with Thomas and Michelle. She just adores him...I can hardly handle it!
