HISTORIC NAUVOO, CARTHAGE, AND CHICAGO

As we left Nauvoo, we stopped for a quick minute at the blacksmith's shop and at the end of the trail of tears where the pioneers crossed the Mississippi River on ice.

We then headed to Carthage for a tour of the jail where Joseph Smith was martyred. The spirit on those grounds is so unique in it's humility, disappointment, and power. So glad we could stop by.

The next morning we headed out to explore downtown Chicago! We walked along the river, over to the bean, then out to the pier. It was such a beautiful day! I was pretty impressed with the city!

I laughed until I hurt as Cora and I played in the hotel room while her parents packed up. Goodness that little girl is too smart for her own good... wish she lived closer!

It was such a wonderful weekend full of family, new places, memories, laughter, backseat toddler stories, mosquito bites, and love! What a great family-in-law I've got!!
