ST. GEORGE // MY FAVORITE

If you know me, you probably know that St. George is one of my favorite cities. I really don't know why, except that every time I go there I have the best time, and it's always sunny and warm and delightful! The trip we took in October was exactly that! We went to support Ronna and Emily at the marathon and since we were late in making housing reservations, Ronna lucked out with a little house at Entrada...the same place High School Musical 2 was filmed!

The fountain that was the background of a few of the shots in the movie was literally in our backyard. This photo was taken from our back patio.

This is the back our of little casa, from the other side of the fountain's pond.

The lodge's private pool where many-a-scenes were filmed.

And since the bridge from the song "What about us" was just a few steps away from our patio, we HAD to get "Troy and Gabriella" picture.

Saturday morning was the marathon. These two ladies trained for months and months and I was, to the point of tears, proud of them to see them come across the line. Emily finished her very first marathon placing fifth in her division and Ronna finished her eighth marathon (six of them being the St George marathon).

On our way home Sunday afternoon, we stopped at Cove Fort. One, because I had never been, and two, because Emily had to examine the Book of Mormon bookcase (and possibly point to one to see where she would be going on her mission).

I knew nothing about Cove Fort and really enjoyed the tour through the rooms, the stories, and seeing the big beautiful trees that were planted by the Hinkley family before they were cut down this fall.

This awesome weekend was preceded by a couple of great days in Las Vegas with our friends the Rahmigs. Let's just say the whole vacation was exactly what we needed and neither of us wanted to go home. (And...the first few days back were rough).
