MAY MAY END

Goodness...it has been far too long since I wrote on here last, but that doesn't mean I haven't thought about it. (Secretly, I love writing. I love expressing myself through typed words. Talking is another story...those words are hard. These...I can do.)

Since I finally have some time to sit in a quiet house (without falling over and falling asleep) and I have the focus/energy to think straight, I thought I might play a little catch up. So humor me, because June is over half-way over, I might as well let May end too.

Per tradition, which started just last year, we made our way to Las Vegas to stay with the Rahmig's for the Memorial Day weekend. And can I just say that they make the greatest hosts?! I know, I say it every time...but they truly are amazing. We had so much fun that I didn't even think about pictures (and believe me, that takes a lot!)

Since they had just moved into their first home a few days before we got there, Lacey and I spent a good amount of time shopping and decorating every room in the house. We used a lot of what she already had, just switched it up and gave it a new look. THIS was her inspiration picture for the living room and we both loved how it turned out! It's not a great picture, but it really is pretty awesome in person! All the rooms turned out great...I'll have to take more pictures next time we visit.

The boys left us to do the decorating and spent time practicing their shooting skills at the huge Clark County range. Lacey and I drove up for a bit since I had never been there and I shot a couple rounds of each gun. My favorite was the 1911 .22. It was the least scary...although I'm getting a lot more confident with handling guns. And I just have to brag a bit and say that I have pretty good aim. Not that I'm too surprised...I did win the bb gun competition at girls camp back in the day. ;)
But I do surprise Thomas every time I shoot...that makes it fun!

We also spent a lot of time at the Rahmig's parent's pool. It was a hot weekend and the water was the temperature of a luke warm bath tub, but I loved it. It was so good to get away and get some sun and perspective. (Long car rides are the best for perspective, aren't they?)

That next weekend we decided to do some more driving and headed up to Blackfoot to see this cute girl graduate high school. I can't believe that it really happened, am I that old? I met Emily over ten years ago...unbelievable. #photobombers

(The light was too gorgeous that Saturday night to not capture the rays through the Park's trees. I'm a sucker for warm, evening light...and Blackfoot has some of the best sunsets.)

And that's it for May...stay tuned for June's adventures! (I know...it's weird. I'm usually so boring, but really, I haven't had a weekend to sleep in and do my own thing in over a MONTH! You can bet your bottom dollar that I'm looking forward to tomorrow...yippee!!)

PS this post is full of brags. Sorry about that.
