Okay, enough of the magic tricks. Seriously, where did August go?
I was telling my little brother in church yesterday that we're in the 8th month. He kept saying, "Uh, no we're not" and I kept saying "Yes, we are!" As I proceded to count on my fingers to 8, ending at August, he said..."Caley, it's September today..." and he was right. Dang it! ;)
Since the month went by in a flash, here's a flashy preview of what went down.
We attended President Monson's birthday celebration at the Conference Center on the 17th. The program was a little history of his life and it was full of broadway music sung by broadway stars themselves! It was incredible! I may have cried a bit.
I have been trying to get used to my glasses, again. I've had them for a few years, but keep thinking I can live without them until I put them and see far things again. Why isn't instantly improved vision a priority for me? Yeah, I don't know either.
We've also been touring the world a bit via Tiger Woods' golf game on the xbox. My little avatar is getting some pretty cool clubs, grips, and outfits with all the tournaments I've been winning. Plus my short game is wickedly awesome! haha. What do you think of Thomas' avatar? I picked out his outfit...looks like him, huh!
On the 25th we joined my family at the Brigham City temple open house. It is absolutely stunning! I loved all the detail work, the moldings, murals, blossom motifs, and especially the joining of traditional and modern elements on the ceilings.
My sister Ashley came to stay a few days with us last week for a quick vacation before her final year in high school {how can that be?} Monday we celebrated the landing of my new job with a big brownie sundae! I have accepted an internship position with the LDS church working with the temple department. I start a week from today and I'm nervous yet very excited!
Friday part of my family and I met at Lava Hot Springs for a little swimming (so fun!), then continued to Blackfoot for the weekend and a little state fair-ing. The parade and fair were fun as usual, but I mostly just love spending time with family. I am sooooo blessed in that department and want them all to know I love them!
While Ashley was staying with us in Utah, we did a little thrifting and I totally found some jewels. My new job with the church requires a dress or skirt to be worn every day so I was thrilled to have found one that fit perfectly, had pockets and was only 5 buck-a-roos!
Last night after Sunday dinner we started looking through my dad's memory books. I had to snap a photo of the picture of him playing for Snow College back in the 80's. {My mom even said this is the photo he gave her when they were dating and she hung it up on her bulletin board in her apartment! How cute!} I believe he still holds the record for most stollen bases...26 or so years later!

So that's that. Short, choppy, unorganized, and quick like a bunny.
The same thing August was to me.
I will do my best to keep this thing updated in future days. A two hour commute plus eight hour work days might have a little impact, but I'll do my best to keep this little diary alive and well.
For those who have instagram, I seem to be doing better with that than this.
I'm @caleypark if you'd rather follow something that's updated more often.
Now, on to September...
