the first of many thankfuls

It's November already. Can't believe it.
This is our 6th week in Colorado. It feels like the 3rd. If that.
We have had many beautiful days here. We got a foot of snow last week but it's pretty much gone...just in time for it to dump some more. They say we're supposed to get around 8" tonight. Ugh. I don't like snow. I keep telling Thomas that we need to move to the south. I think he's finally getting it.

This weekend is Kelsey and Ian's open house in Blackfoot. I so wish I could be there.
I wish I could be there to help my mom decorate, to dress up in our matching sister-dresses again, and to just be surrounded by friends and family from Idaho.
It's made me a little homesick to be honest.

Thankfully I've had some good distractions here in Colorado.

One. Grandma Janna (aka Wes' mom / Thomas' aunt) came for a week to babysit while the parents took a trip to California. It was really good to have her here! She's such a positive person and huge inspiration.

Two. We had a weekend of Halloween activities. (Sorry, no photos. Next time. Promise.) We were able to spend it with our Colorado family members and a good dose of Hocus Pocus.

Three, takes place in Kentucky. Today I became an aunt. Yep. You can call me Aunt Caley now. Well, maybe just the new niece. ;) She's absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see her in real life at Christmas!

Four. We're officially moving back to Idaho on November 19th. Just in time for Thanksgiving! What a blessing! It will be the first time with the Porter clan! Should be a riot!

Five. I have so much to be grateful for! Anytime I get a little down, home-sick, or frustrated, I start trying to count my blessings and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. Life is good. It really is.

And I think this is a good month to think about, recognize, and record those blessings...hope you don't mind if I do...
