In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

I'm so grateful for everything I have in my life. I'm grateful that I made a conscious effort these past few weeks to find something I was grateful for everyday. I've realized that I have no reason to complain or be discouraged. I have more blessings than I know what to do with!

Yesterday I attended a funeral of a lady that we met at the oncology office last year. Thomas and I both knew her husband from our middle school years, but had never met her. She was on her 2nd round with breast cancer treatments and the outlook wasn't great. But, she was so positive, always smiling and so kind. She knew, as well as anyone, that her time may be coming to an end, but she did not give up. She was a mother to six children and a good wife. At the services yesterday I realized that she was a woman of God. She knew who she was and she took advantage of the opportunities and blessings that she had. It was a good reminder to me that I can't take advantage of my blessings. At any moment, they could be gone. I'm grateful for her example and the impact she's had on mine to be a better person. There is no reason I can't be who I should be.

I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving and have a realization, as I had, of the many wonderful things we have in our lives!
