As many of you know, this past weekend was the 180th Semiannual General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints {aka Mormons} which we are. It was absolutely amazing! Here are some of my favorite words:
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
-Leonardo DaVinci
Relationship Priorities:
1) God 2) Family 3) Others 4) Ourselves
"Love is spelled T.I.M.E."
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"A wise man doesn't see what he has not, but rejoices of what he has."
-Thomas S. Monson
"Early to bed, early to rise..."
{Said right to me!}
It is truly amazing how applicable and appropriate the talks were. They always are. It's like they are talking right to my soul. Which they are. The words go straight to my soul and the Holy Ghost testifies that they are true. I know they are true. I feel so blessed to know that truth in this crazy world: Who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going. It makes life worth living {and enduring} because He made it all possible.
Conference always helps me evaluate my life, my strengths and my weaknesses. It helps me want to be better, be the Child of God that I know that I am. But, as I've recently noticed, that it's also the time when Satan works a little harder than usual, putting doubts in my mind {of which I dwell on...} that "it's too hard."
Well, today was one of those "too hard" days. I struggled to find motivation from the moment I woke up. I've also held a too long of pity party for myself this evening. It was then when I remembered one of my favorite talks "Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence." I've blogged about this talk previously and the strength that it can give, I'll probably be rereading it tonight.
For those who also had the "up" feelings from conference, how do you stay "up"? Have you experienced the "down" after the "up" as I have? What do you do?

I know where you are coming from. What has helped me stay up this last conference is writing my new goals on my mirror so I see them every day, and making sure that I get my prayers and scripture reading in before anything else. It really is helping!
ReplyDeleteCaley, I think you take the words out of everyone's mouth! At least mine! I understand your experience with the ups and downs! I think that is why we are constantly reminded of these things and told to study the words over and over again! I have been trying to listen to or read a gospel related talk daily and it helps! I think I focus to much on the standard scriptures we have and forget that the prophet and his apostles are giving me latter-day revelation! They are both important but they are both considered scripture too! ;-) I don't have the answers yet either but those are my thoughts! Good luck dear!
