halloween costume: part 1

We've already attended a halloween party this year,
but it wasn't a dress-up one, and I kind of wanted to...

so I've been thinking about what to be next week.

Yesterday morning while getting ready for work,
I put in a red headband and had the thought that  "I should be a pirate!"
I've liked the idea since.

I guess today I officially made the costume final and started putting it together:

Don't you need a black-eye for an eye patch!

{Arrgggg matey!}

Yes, folks, it's a real black eye.

I went to check a price on a coffee table for a lady at work this afternoon

and caught my eye on one of the hooks in the slat-wall that holds products.

It didn't really hurt. I promise.

But I was super embarrassed because the lady was standing right behind me.

I think I may have caused a small panic attack.

Luckily Thomas was around to help me home.

I took a good, long nap {that's why my hair is a mess in the 2nd pic}

and I feel good, even though it is completely swollen shut and it's pretty sore.

But, I had to make my costume official, right?
