i'm sure many of you know about my husband's love of golf.
[don't worry, he's told me time & time again that it's not anything like his love for me! lol]
but i've noticed that when most people ask him about it,
they always seem to look at me for a reaction.
they always seem to look at me for a reaction.
why? i don't know.
how am i supposed to react?
i've tried smiling...
[they laugh]
i've tried rolling my eyes like it annoys me...
[but it doesn't]
i've tried laughing...
[it gets awkward]
i guess i just dont undersand why they look at me when they're really asking about him.
is it so bad to have a hobby that you love? shouldn't everyone?
i mean, i love interior design & blogging...they make me happy!
and he loves golfing because it makes him happy!
yes, having hobbies can become an obsession if you're not careful,
but if it brings you happiness, you should be allowed to enjoy it. life is all about that...joy!

i even went out with him the other day and was again
pleasantly surprised how wonderfully peaceful it is on a golf course.
i thoroughly enjoyed riding in the cart while reading my all-in-one narnia series.

hahahah, I SO know how that is. I think it comes with being married- and they probably look at you because they are jealous that you let him enjoy it. We told our home teachers the other day that I very much enjoyed a good game on the x-box, and they were like silent. Just looked at me like I was joking, and then asked. "wait, seriously?" And I proceeded to tell them that yeah, and sometimes I play more than Brantt. They continued to just look at me for the punchline. SO, I totally know where you're coming from.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this post, Porter! Seriously, why can't each spouse in the marriage of a hobby they love? And why can't the other spouse support them lovingly without having others act like it must be HORRIBLE to support a spouse in something they love? Ah you make me happy!
