THE TWENTIES IN MAY

Here I am again writing about a few days at a time...guess that's just how my life is right now: busy busy busy! (I'm writing this from Las Vegas as we're here on a trip visiting some of our best friends, the  Rahmigs. They have been the best hosts...we've had an amazing time. Don't worry, I'll blog about this trip one of these days too.)

Back to "Everyday in May"...and things you didn't know about me. oh goodie! ;)

DAY 20: Share something you're struggling with right now
  • Making the time and finding the energy to plan a head to find healthy meals, shop, cook, and eat them at the end of long work days. I'm on the hunt for a collection of easy, healthy recipes, that a family of two can enjoy. Veronica shared one of my favorite sources so far: 100 Days of Real Food (it's amazing - you seriously need to check it out!) What are you favorite sources to find real food recipes? I'd loooove to know!

DAY 21: A list of links to your favorite posts in your archives.

DAY 22: Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel.
  • I don't like it when people are mean to each other. There is absolutely no reason to be rude. If there is a misunderstanding, talk it out. If there is an offense, talk it out. Forgive and forget. It's not worth it.

DAY 23: Things you've learned that school don't teach you.
  • How important values are. How important it is to be kind. How important family is. How important time management is. How important it is to have harmony in a space. How important it is to make and keep friends. How important it is to stay true to who you are.

DAY 24: Your top three worst traits.
  • I can't say no.
  • I'm overly emotional.
  • I'm impatient.

DAY 25: Something someone told you about yourself that you'll never forget.
  • One day in seminary my teacher was talking about the importance of modesty. He said that in a previous hour, as he was teaching the same lesson, a couple comments came up from the girls about how hard it was to be cute and modest at the same time. They just couldn't do both. Then a kid raised his hand and said, "Caley Porter is always dressed modestly and she's one of the cutest girls I know." (I was quite embarrassed that he said that story in front of the whole class while I was sitting there, but I've never forgotten it.)

DAY 26: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss.
  • Restoring Balanced Media in a Home. Although I don't have kids...it opened my eyes and gave me so many good ideas try in my own life. Quiet and alone time is good, for all of us.

DAY 27: A letter to your readers.
  • I love you all...although I'm not consistant and sometimes post really random things, I appreciate you taking the time to read, and even more, commenting on my blog. It's an outlet for me for not only design, but to talk things out that I've got on my mind. I'm one of those people that have to talk things out in order to make sense and come to conclusions. So, thanks for putting up with me and sticking around through all of it. I really do appreciate it!
