A SECRET I NEED TO KNOW

It's been a week and a half and I'm still in love with my new job. It's really true what they say about finding something you love to do and you'll never have to "work" a day in your life! ;)

But there is something I need to work at, and if any of you have experience/advice/wisdom, I would very much appreciate it...

How in the world do I keep up with the house, the laundry, the dishes, the yard, the groceries, the workouts, the errands, and most of all...me? I don't mean to sound selfish, but how do I keep my sanity after a twelve hour work day and get everything done in only three or so hours before bed
(well, two after another hour of work/emails). I know new schedules take a lot of balance and patience until things fall into place, but I also know a lot of you are busy working ladies or moms that seem to have it down.

What is your secret? I need to know.

  1. Caley-

So I just started a new part-time job (at Silver State Textiles, btw) and have a second part-time job at an art and frame shop (plus the 40-minute commute to get there), and I'm taking nine credit hours which consist of physics II lecture, physics II lab, and calculus I! Phew! I've found that the ONLY time to clean is on Sunday for me (not ideal, but still no homework on Sunday which makes a huge difference). I also write out every appointment and task for that day. It helps to write out when you're going to do what task, and then check it off your list.

There's my bit of advice. I feel your pain!

  2. Ha...I think we're all learning this! I used to be a Saturday chore kind of a gal - but it's impossible to do all of the deep cleaning, laundry washing, and errand running on Saturday. So now, everyday I to one or two chores - laundry, clean one bathroom, mop the floor, etc. And then after I put my kids to bed, I hurry and tidy up the house as FAST as possible so I have an hour to myself or with my hubby. Then by Saturday, everything's cleaned...or at least been cleaned throughout the week and we can have a play day. Meals - it's all about crock pot meals and meal planning...I'm the worst at meal planning but it really does help to know what groceries to buy and what to prep for which day. Making and freezing meals works too! Wow, this is long!
