WRITING ONE LINE A DAY

With all the crazy things going on these days, there is not much for "me" time anymore.
And when there is, I'm usually either sleeping, eating, reading,
or sometimes trying to talk myself into running.
It's amazing how the unimportant things get filtered out when I have limited time.
(Sorry if this blog has seemed like one of those things, I promise I won't let it...)

But there has been one thing that I've done nearly every single day: writing One Line a Day.
My good friend Dawnelle mailed that little blue book to me for my birthday and
I have loved keeping track of what I do everyday. Some days are exciting, others, not so much.
But recording my life and it's little tender mercies has definitely brought me much happiness.
It's the prefect journal book for those of us who don't always make time to blog or journal every day.
My wonderful husband also surprised me with Stephanie's new book "Heaven is Here"
for my birthday. It really is an incredible story of hope, triumph, and everyday joy.
I hope every woman gets the chance to read it.

This past week I finished "The Giver" and gave it five stars and two, enthusiastic thumbs up!
I won't give too much away because I know people reading this are currently reading it,
but I couldn't help but love the symbolism that I found from it, as well as the irony of the
world they created for themselves. So thought provoking...

Although I'm still in the middle of two books, I always love getting suggestions from you!
What should I add to my bookshelf to read next?

{I'm also still taking suggestions for our Utah bucket-list...}

  1. I'm glad you are enjoying the journal!! and The Giver... one of my favorites!! You should try Gathering Blue. It is written by the same author and is similar to The Giver. It is fabulous!!

  2. I was going to suggest Gathering Blue as well, and the second book to that is The Messenger...actually, I think they are all in the same series and The Messenger ties them all together.

  5. There are a lot of fun things to do in Utah. I also asked my husband since he has been here just a little big longer than I have.
    - Hike Mt Timpanogos (I won't ever do it, too scary)
    - Timpanogos Caves
    - Lake Powell
    - Grizzlies Hockey Games: one of our favorite date nights
    - Gardner Village during Halloween. Witches Night Out
    - Park City- Main Street
    - Alpine Loop: gorgeous drive
    - Strawberry Resevoir: Dusty says it has good fishing
    - Ice Fishing
    - Go to a pick your own berries farm
    - Demolition Derby in Spanish Fork
    - Rodeos throughout the summer; strawberry days in pleasant grove, fiesta days in spanish fork, etc
    - Outdoor plays during the summer
    - Air Show at Hill Air Force Base
    - Moab
So that is a really big list, but hopefully some on there interest you! You will have to let me know what you come up with, so that I can do one as well. What a great idea.
And you can see all of the books I like on goodreads :)
