WE WERE JUST KIDS

Last weekend we were watching some home videos from the high school days at Chris & Lacey's house when along came the day of Thomas' mission farewell. It was taken in his parent's living room where at least 20 people were gathered to listen to Dan sing a song about Thomas serving a mission.

I know that day was an emotional one, but for some reason I had completely forgotten that song. It was fun to hear everyone chatting and seeing the young faces of those gathered there.

I keep thinking about that day, the video, the feelings, and thoughts that I had at the time. I can't believe that it has been 7 years since I told him goodbye for a whole 2 years. I can't believe we're going to be celebrating our 5th anniversary this summer.

I've realized that, although the future is uncertain, I'm going to treasure these times I have with my best friend. We get to spend nearly all day, every day together right now. I highly doubt it will be like this ever again...and I know I will look back on this time and miss it. So I'm going to treasure it.

Anyway...I just now realized that we're matching in that photo up there. 

Guess it was always meant to be. hehe.
