I've got it good!

This morning I woke up to someone doing my dishes.

My first thought was, "Oh dang, it's my turn to do the dishes, I hope I didn't wait to long and make him mad!" Second thought: "He's the greatest...I owe him big!" Third thought: "He better not be using all the hot water!"

As you can tell, I'm kind of off in the mornings. Not having enough hot water for my shower really ruins my day. Thankfully I have a patient husband who turned off the water. {And yes, I did wait too long to do the dishes...they were really needing to be washed. And no, he wasn't mad, he never gets mad.}

So all day at work I thought of ways to pay him back. One of them was to not put off the dishes as long as I did this time...another was to make him one of his favorite meals for dinner...and the third, to surprise him with his favorite dessert. I think I did pretty good!

I made our favorite Cashew Chicken for dinner, and this for dessert:

Did you figure out what I made? I had to google "how to split an egg in half"...but they turned out good! {Well actually, we didn't make it past the dough part.}

After dinner I was able to gchat with my far away sis-in-laws and far away best friend who's having a baby in less than a month!

I look bored but I promise I was having the time of my life! I'm so grateful for things like gchat, facebook, blogger, twitter, etc... that let me stay in contact with my favorite people. I'm grateful for a patient husband that helps me to be better each day and tells me how cute I am each day.

Anytime I start feeling the winter blues...I just start counting my blessings and everything seems a little brighter! ;)

PS I'm in the market for some good, inexpensive measuring cups. The plastic white ones I have just aren't cutting it...and I've managed to misplace some of the most important sizes. Any suggestions?

  1. I really love mine from Williams-Sonoma. THey are a heavier plastic and the size isn't just stamped on (so you don't have to worry about it getting scratched off) and right now they have them in RED! http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/empire-red-melamine-measuring-cups-and-spoons/?pkey=e%7Cmeasuring%2Bcups%7C5%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C5&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

    Here is a link for them :) Hope that helps!
