and then it did!
For all of you who have never been to BYU-Idaho, imagine a little college that decided to become a university. It accepted TONS of more students but decided NOT to add anymore parking to the campus. Ok...now you're up to speed...
So yesterday I received an email from the school that said "the city of Rexburg will now be requiring a parking permit" for 3 streets near the campus. I looked at the map of the campus and thought "ok, good, they're not the streets near the Clarke building". But when I drive up to the Clarke this morning, there are indeed signs explaining that I must have a permit to park on the street. Not only must I have a permit, but the parking stalls are facing the opposite direction of the incoming traffic so I have to do 1-2-3 and back into the spot. Lame! The only thing I can think of why they did it this way is so the tow truck has easier access to those cars that don't have a permit. Yes, I know, its unbelievably, ridiculously stupid!
Every single day I get more excited to graduate! Only 8 more months...
I am SOOO excited for the snow and parking now!! hahaha Can you only imagine these people from warm places who have never driven in snow BACKING into parking spaces...
ReplyDeleteget out of there!
ReplyDeleteSorry Caley... but I agree the parking just down right bites!!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for graduation, I'm right with ya! Nay for parking, good grief! I think they should give parking permits to teachers and have a special lot just for us. At least thats how I would have it if I ran the school, lol.
ReplyDeleteTravis showed me the parking. Guess what?!?!? You have to back into the parking spots, so that they can see your city permits! There are going to be so many accidents!!! I'm sorry, I hope that for your sake it works out nicely. I'm sooooo glad that I'm done!
ReplyDeleteI'd heard about the city permits, which cost about 2x more than the school permits, but I had no idea about the stupid backing up thing! That is SO lame! John usually parks up at the Hinckley and walks down to class since that's the only lot that actually HAS open spots. I don't understand why they didn't plan for better parking...it's dumb. They need a parking garage! I'm so glad I graduated!!
ReplyDeleteyeah, school was great back in the day when i was stupid and didn't really care and lived right next to campus....but once we got married, and moved farther away and had to find parking...yeah, not so great! graduating is the best! moving AWAY FROM REXBURG.....even better! i'm excited for you guys!
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't think it could get worse either... what a bummer!!!
